Like all other activities in any domain, Business should be sustainable! What does it sustain? Actually, as most of environmental milieu have been mistreated by men, Business Sustainability applies to: Earth global warming, preservation of ecosystems, respect of all men's and animals' natural habitats, etc. In short, sustainable Business causes no prejudice to any real or prospective third party. The following examples show their possible natures:
- When constructing a highway or a building, archaeological traces must be saved. They are representing a part of the memory of humanity;
- Now, new regulations are forcing all commercial or non-commercial activities to reduce their carbon prints to a minimum;
- Over tapping natural and non-renewable resources is definitely a kind spoliation future generations.
These examples show clearly that Sustainable Business plays a major role in allowing the economical, ecological, social systems to survive on long terms. As a consequence, sustainability is a guarantee for Business long duration i.e., the possibility for the Business Model to remain lastingly operational... Providing it bears intrinsically the qualities of robustness and adaptability.
