eSociety: The World Wide Web goes to Cloud Computing Connections‏ & Social Networks

 Version Française: ici!

Already 100 years! I mean, in this month of May, 2011, IBM is celebrating its first centennial: Just 3 years before WW1 International Business Machines was created. For the first time in history, machines were built for Business, announcing the era of computers that started at the end of WW2 with the invention of the ENIAC. Then, in the late eighties, the World Wide Web reduced Planet Earth and Humanity to an Internet Village. Today, the "village" is connected by Cloud Computing! What does it change?

Well, massive connections in terms of nodes allied to loose links in terms of coupling between nodes is leading to the proliferation of inter-woven new Web Services. The Internet of the future has started to deploy its gigantic tentacles over an uncontrollable eSociety:

- Most of legal regulations are over-flown by technological progresses!

- States could hardly define proper ways to govern this accelerating evolution!

- Moreover, the Y Generation has definitely adopted the usages of the Internet of the 21st Century!

Meantime, dotcoms are providing more and more eServices to the citizens of the world, whose Authorities failed to propose models for their eSociety... when they do not simply ban or censor the use of Social Networks, Blogs, Podcasts and Wiki – it’s typically the case of most dictatorships.

This article reviews the main issues of our nascent eSociety in a context where users can act, interact and react on all events of life, via their Web 2.0 Medias. Their actions may lead to evolutions, even revolutions!

Issues are analyzed in terms of legal stakes, organizational approach and social questions. Other issues will probably surge out in the next few years as our Society is all together experimenting new ways of life, developing tremendously advanced technologies, always searching more efficient Business Models. But, it has not yet accepted the idea that Sustainability must be our first priority! It's why the emergent energizing eSociety will certainly increase global Carbon Footprint...

From World Wide Web to Cloud Computing Connections

International laws for eSociety

What law to apply when…?

-          the user of a site is in country A,

-          the server in countries B0, B1 and B2,

-          the commercial transaction in Country C?

Worldly Powers vs. World Wide Web Potentials

Worldly Powers and Spiritual powers are part of Human History and Human Societies. Are there today some kinds of “Virtual Powers” when sociologists refer to the Internet? Any observer would be convinced of the reality of Virtual Powers on considering the continuing growth of Social Networks, which count their users by hundred of millions, even trillions…

RSLand, Twitoostan, Podcastia & Wikini Islands‏

~ “BBS-Harbor to starboard! Wikini Island to port!”

It is a whoop of joy of an avatar-sailor, surfing on the seas of an improbable “total virtual” Social Network” of the Internet, a kind of “Nth Life-Xth Death” would shout from the top of his boat mast!

More seriously, have you ever noticed that anything existing in a real country could be found on the Web:

- A post office

- A bank,

- Shops (electronic of course)

- On-line Games; on-line TV to entertain people,

- Etc.

What attributes are missing for a Social Network to self-proclaim as an eState! Just a currency – it’s already done… and Laws… but eLaws are not Laws!

Ownership, authors' rights & users' licenses

The user is expected to remain owner of the data he has hosted on the "web space of his own ... but does he have all the necessary information end options to manage the privacy of his data, documents, information, etc.? Is he sure that the ownership of these objects will not be claimed by the provider hosting them?

FSN vs. @SN: just a matter of psychology!‏
